Our charter fishing vessel is "Old Spool". The boat is a 25 foot pilot house Parker powered by a single 2019 Suzuki 300. The pilot house can get you out of the elements and there is a large bunk you can lay down on if needed. The boat has a 9' 6" beam which provides an extremely stable platform without much side-to-side rocking. The boat is equipped with everything you need offshore or at Catalina island . It has radar, GPS, autopilot, 90 gallon bait tank, electric trolling motor, fish finder, fresh water tank, head, and all the necessary safety equipment. A very stable and comfortable fishing boat made for our local waters. A fishing guides dream boat!

Matt has been a licensed US Coast Guard captain since 2011. Born and raised in California, Matt has loved fishing since childhood. Learning how to fish in freshwater lakes and streams in the Sierra Mountains quickly turned to an obsession on targeting larger gamefish in the Pacific. Beyond being a fishermen Matt is a true waterman. Having swam the 21 mile Catalina Channel, working six years as a local ocean lifeguard, surfing every chance he can, and coaching a local high school water polo team for eight years, Matt is constantly in or around the water. Eager to share his passion of the local fishery and it's waters, Matt started running four passenger fishing charters and loves every minute he shares with his guests aboard Old Spool!
